Group Captain Ajay Rathi, Manish Sharma, and Air Commodore Kundu to be honored played a special role in Ladakh border
Group Captain Ajay Rathi, Air Commodore Subroto Kundu, and Group Captain Manish Sharma will be honored with the award at the decoration ceremony of the Indian Air Force. The three officers will be honored at the Indian Air Force's decoration ceremony for their respective roles during the military standoff with China in the Eastern Ladakh sector for the past two years.
In fact, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary, on Thursday honored many air warriors with Yudh Seva Medals and other awards. Apart from this, he also handed over citations to six units for exemplary service to the nation and the force. Three air warriors were awarded the Yudh Seva Medal, four Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry), and 14 Air Force personnel were awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in the decoration ceremony held at the Air Force Auditorium, Subroto Park.
The Vishisht Seva Medal was awarded to 28 air warriors including three retired Air Force personnel. In addition, 21 Wing, Air Force Station New Delhi, 2257 Squadron, 77 Squadron, 4 Squadron, and 159 Helicopter Unit were awarded the prestigious Chief of Air Staff's Commendation. This year the Air Force Raising Day will be organized in Chandigarh instead of Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad.
